Bosa city
Maritime city is one of the oldest capitals in Sardinia.Signs of its ancient splendour are still visible along the main avenues and in the old medieval neighbourhood called “Sa Costa”. That area is situated at the feet of the medieval castle of Serravalle where from you can enjoy sightseeing of the city and the only navigable river in Sardinia: the Temo.
Important places to visit in Bosa are the Deriu’s House with the Melis Art Gallery and a XIX century flat, the Conce’s museum (factory of XVIII century for the production of leather which was declared national monument in 1989), the Stara’s ethnographic museum where thousands of pieces about history and traditions of Bosa and surroundings are collected.
The sea in Bosa, many times prized as one of the cleanest seas in Italy, offers clean and comfortable beaches, from the biggest one of Bosa Marina provided with all the services to the wildest Tentizzos, Managu, Capo Marrargiu to finish on the paradisiacal Cumpoltittu and S’Abba Druche.You can reach all these beaches every day with boat-trips, stopping in the best bays to refreshing yourself and have a swim.
The gastronomy of Bosa is also very important in which fish dishes prevail.Typical dishes are: lobster (the one fished in Bosa is between the more exquisite) cooked in many ways, S’Azzada (Ray fish in garlic sauce) and the gilt-bream in malvasia wine (the malvasia is a typical high-quality wine produced in the valleys of Bosa).
