PICTURE GALLERIES AND COMMUNAL MUSEUMS Of BOSA

Situated in the very heart of Bosa in Corso Vittorio Emanuele between the Cathedral, Cattedrale dell'Immacolata and the main square Piazza IV Novembre, Casa Deriu represents one of the most important museums of Bosa city.

The structure of the house is characteristic, is built on four levels and was restored for the first time to half of 1800. It is probably the result of the union more adjacent houses.
On the ground floor one time were the wine cellars, the pantry and the cistern, here attract notice the characteristic cross low vaults and the massive arches in red trachyte.
Halfway up the prominent stairs in pink trachyte and arriving to the first floor is possible to admire temporary expositions, each one connected with the traditions of Bosa.

On the third floor three old and beautiful doors guard the suggestive Piano Nobile, an authentic refined flat remained exactly like in XIX century. Here modernity is represented just from the electric system characterized from the swìtches in baked day.

The last floor gives hospitality to another permanent exposition.
The various works of art run through the carrier of one of the most important sardinian painter, ceramist, graphic, decorator, handicraft designer of the XIX century: Melkiorre Melis.

The visit continues with the last exposure in the picture gallery sìtuated just in front of Casa Deriu where are exposed the suggestive pictures of Antonio Atza.

THE ARAGONESE TOWER BOSA MARINA

Edified before the 1572 the Aragonese Tower of the Red Island in Bosa Marina is considered one of the biggest in Sardinia.
It was used to defend the coast from the enemy attacks, and was inhabited from an Alcalde Alcaide), an Artilleryman and six Soldiers.
Actually inside is possible to admire the big fireplace, various decorative catalan and aragonese elements in red trachyte. the dome-shaped voult and the pillar. At least you can enjoy a good view from the terrace where is also possible to observ other two towers: Columbargia and Argentina.
